Finding a way to say “Happy Father’s Day”

The global pandemic and ensuing lockdown forced all of us to take pause and consider what’s truly important in our lives — family, friends and good health. For Father’s Day 2020, we asked people to write letters to their dads and father figures, to let them know what they truly mean to us all. We asked them to share a memory, to tell their Dad how he’s helped them grow, or to take the time to say thanks for something they may never have said out loud before. In a time of distance and isolation for many, notonthehighstreet simply wanted to send the message to people to connect and share stories with their loved ones.

Campaign launch film

Faced with the challenges of shooting during lockdown, we invited people from all over the country to share their letters on camera. We paired our final five up with an amazing notonthehighstreet Small Business Partner to handcraft a product that reflected each story, filmed their work being made and created a colourful graphic layout for the edit to give it standout on TV among a throng of home-filmed, socially-distanced commercial spots.
