The Magic of Small Things
TVC, Digital, Social & PR: Creative & Production
Believe in the magic of small things.
In 2020 we learned a huge amount about ourselves and what really matters to us as a nation.
The daily pressures of ‘the new normal’, with uncertainty around work, finances, friends and family, left a new kindness in its wake. We came together to show our love for the NHS and frontline workers who kept the country going. Many of us helped out self-isolators and neighbours we’d barely waved at before. And during this time, notonthehighstreet saw a huge surge in small tokens of love being sent to loved ones all over the country.
We learned that it was the small touches, gestures and surprises that meant the most. And with all the big events that usually unite us cancelled this year, we knew people would be looking forward to the magic of Christmas more than ever before.
This campaign directly speaks to notonthehighstreet’s ‘support small’ mantra, showcasing the 5,000 Small Business Partners that make up their marketplace — as well as the small tokens, gestures and moments that truly make Christmas magical.
We delivered a 60” launch campaign, followed by 2 x 30” cutdowns and 6 x 10” stories, across TV and social.
The campaign also shaped notonthehighstreet’s onsite, CRM, catalogue and PR campaign.
The campaign was conceived, produced and delivered in-house. The incredible John Turner from Dark Energy directed the main campaign, bringing a masterful level of warmth, joy, humour and heart to our strategic and creative concepts.
It’s the small businesses, and the small things that mean the most this year.
Part of notonthehighstreet’s PR campaign was saying a huge thank you to the nation’s heroic posties for all the incredible work they’d done throughout the year (in large part, delivering all of notonthehighstreet’s products around the country). With support from the amazing Ronan Keating, we delivered a poetic thank you to all the hard working souls that have gone above and beyond to keep us connected this year.
Make Christmas Magic
To support the brand-led TV and social campaign, we created a set of targeted YouTube films that tapped directly into the joy and celebration of Christmas while showing off notonthehighstreet’s personality-packed products. These took the form of a longer 20” film, and 6 x 6” bumpers .
