Unmasking scammers
Every year, tonnes of traps are laid by scammers looking to wrangle money from unsuspecting people. Sometimes these are done in Richard Branson or Virgin’s name. These false endorsements, fake messages and phoney websites are all desperate to siphon cash from people who don’t deserve to be diddled.
We worked with Virgin’s awesome digital marketing and IP teams to build this modular animation that playfully warns people about the top four scams masquerading as genuine Virgin communications.For an issue that’s so close to his heart, Sir Richard was kind enough to voice this for us — playing an evil robot version of himself.
It was important that, for the visuals and script, we struck the right tone between the playful, bold Virgin style and the seriousness of the message. The animation was unveiled in conjunction with a wider campaign of press and PR featuring Sir Richard’s message on scam prevention in major news outlets across the UK.
